Psychobabbling is drawn, copied, pasted, and written by Kat. No, that's not her real name. Yes, I'm her, and I'm talking in the third person.

Characters:

Ego
Ego is practical and hard-working and generally knows what's going on. He prefers to discuss things in a calm, rational manner but often gets mixed up in the confusion and chaos caused by other parts of the Brain. Luckily, he usually knows what to do, and he can always be counted on to do it.

Doubt
Doubt is the embodiment of his name and spends most of his time following Ego around and asking him questions in an ongoing quest to figure out how the Brain works. He tends to cause a bit of trouble from time to time because he can't stop himself from doubting everything around him, but there has been a time or two when this has worked to his advantage.

ego
ego (that's with a small "e") is the real ego of the Brain and is accordingly egotistical himself. He thinks everything is about himself, and he usually shows up when his name is spoken, as long as it's spelled with a small "e". Also, he's about ten times bigger than any other characters in the comic, assuming size matters in the Brain.

Id
Id is Ego's considerably older brother. As such, he embodies the form of a caveman, loincloth included, and usually behaves like one, as well. He represents the primal instincts of the Brain.

Inner Child
The Inner Child was originally a little girl, but certain meddlesome parts of the Brain thought she would be better off as a boy and a girl and split her into two. Ego fixed the problem by giving the Inner Children the ambition to change themselves. When they did so, they chose to become a single entity with no gender whatsoever, taking on the current form he/she/it holds, thereby eliminating any future confusion. Presumably, anyway.

Super-Ego
Super-Ego is Ego's younger brother. He spends most of his time being meddlesome, politically correct, and as rational as he thinks he can be. Logic does not necessarily accompany his rationalizations. He is the polar opposite of his oldest brother Id. Luckily, Ego is around to keep both of them in check.

Deception
Deception is the biggest liar in the Brain, but more than that, she spends most of her time actively seeking out ways to screw with the other inhabitants. She particularly enjoys messing with Doubt because he's so easy to fool and manipulate. Fortunately, her lies are easy to spot since she blushes whenever actually speaking the truth.

Fear
Meet Fear. He fears. Everything. That's pretty much all you need to know about him, other than that his fears tend to be overreactions and sometimes cause the Brain to shut down like a computer that's run out of RAM.

Logic
This is Logic. Don't be alarmed by his appearance. He's quite passive, not to mention practically all-knowing. But he has a habit of spouting the truth, regardless of whether those around him want to hear it or not. His motto is probably, "If the truth hurts, keep a stiff upper lip." Or something like that.

Curiosity
Curiosity is the embodiment of his name. Pretty much all he does is ask questions and wonder about stuff. That can be annoying. But it's also a great way to get something interesting started.

Addiction
Since Addiction changes appearance depending on what the Brain is obsessed with at the time, there isn't a picture that really shows what it looks like. But this is close enough, since anime is a big (and often expensive and/or dangerous) addiction. Also, it's colorful and eye-catching. Unfortunately, since Addiction changes so much based on the Brain's obsessions, it also doesn't have a real personality of its own. Unless you count acting obsessed with various things as a personality. Which some people do.

Inner Mom
She's not a real character since she's never been seen, but the Inner Mom plays an important role in the Brain. After all, doesn't every mom lurk in the back of every child's mind, reminding them to buckle their seat belt or work hard? She doesn't interact directly with the other characters, as far as we know, but she definitely has a presence.

Libido
Libido has big...hair. She also changes size depending on the Brain's current feelings and hormone levels. She likes hanging around during wet dreams and being an object of lust. But that goes without saying. She's generally very nice but can suffer from tunnel vision.

Confusion
Confusion does just what his name implies. That means no one wants him around much. Sometimes, though, the affects of his presence can be felt even when he's not in sight. He's a very complex character that hasn't been fully explored yet.

Compulsion
Compulsion is Obsession's twin. They operate in pretty much the same fashion, except that they're usually interested in two different things at any time. Compulsion tends to deal more with things the Brain feels drawn to, rather than the latest fad or craze. Lately, Compulsion has been into nerdy and geeky things like science fiction and tabletop gaming.
